Options Profit Calculator

Max Profit, Max Loss, Breakevens & Payoff Chart at Expiration

Pick a strategy or build your own legs, type in your strikes, premiums, and number of contracts, and see profit and loss at expiration, your maximum profit and loss, every breakeven, and the payoff chart. It works for single calls and puts, vertical spreads, straddles, iron condors, covered calls, and protective puts. Everything is calculated from the numbers you enter, so nothing depends on live quotes.

Enter your own strikes and premiums. Results are profit and loss at expiration, not market quotes.

At expiration

Picking a strategy fills in example strikes and premiums around the underlying price. Replace them with your own.

Options are 100 shares per contract. Profit and loss are for the whole position at expiration and exclude commissions, taxes, and early assignment.

Problem

Option Payoffs Are Easy to Get Wrong by Hand

The 100-share multiplier and your contract count change every dollar figure

Multi-leg trades have more than one breakeven, and short calls have no cap on losses

Long calls and short calls report open-ended profit or loss instead of a made-up number

How it works

Get started in 4 simple steps

1

Choose a Strategy

Pick a preset such as a bull put spread or iron condor, or edit the legs yourself

2

Enter Strikes and Premiums

Type the strike, the premium per share, and the number of contracts for each leg

3

Read the Result

Max profit, max loss, breakevens, and profit and loss at five prices

4

Check the Chart

See where the position makes or loses money at expiration

Bull Put Spread Example

  • Sell a $95 put for $2.10 and buy a $90 put for $0.80, one contract each
  • Net credit: ($2.10 − $0.80) × 100 = $130, which is also your max profit
  • Max loss: ($5 spread width − $1.30 credit) × 100 = $370
  • Breakeven: $95 − $1.30 = $93.70

This is hypothetical math from typed-in numbers, not a live quote. The calculator opens on this trade so you can change one number and watch the result move.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about getting started

How do I calculate options profit?

For each leg, take the intrinsic value at expiration (stock price minus strike for a call, strike minus stock price for a put, never below zero), subtract the premium you paid or add the premium you received, then multiply by 100 shares per contract and by the number of contracts. Add the legs together.

How is the breakeven calculated?

It is the underlying price at expiration where total profit and loss crosses zero. For a long call it is the strike plus the premium; for a bull put spread it is the short strike minus the net credit. Strategies like straddles and iron condors have two breakevens.

Why does it say unlimited?

A long call can gain without limit as the stock rises, and a short call can lose without limit. The calculator reports those cases as unlimited instead of showing a number.

Does this calculator show profit before expiration?

No. It shows profit and loss at expiration only, based on the strikes and premiums you type. It does not model time value or implied volatility, and it does not use live market data.

Does it include commissions or taxes?

No. Subtract your broker commissions and any taxes separately. Early assignment is also not modeled.
